A good place to sleep in Taipei

We stayed 3 nights in a Standard Twin En-Suite while visiting Taipei. The hostel has two parts which are not connected. Our part fortunately has an elevator. The room is clean but very small, sparse, with no window. It was okay since we were out all day and only slept there. The deco in the common area is unique and there are many books and desks in the common area plus a laundry room (only one washer and one dryer though). Breakfast of NTD50 included daily but we mostly had breakfast at eateries across the street. Staff is friendly but hours are very limited although special requests may be made outside of normal hours. The location is great - in walking distance to the central train/metro station. Price is reasonable considering Taipei and the location.

Paid for a double room with own toilet with the price of deluxe double room, but the room we got is very basic. 1. Towel will be charged if change daily; 2. No table in the room; 3. Hanger provided but no place to hang; 4. Alot of cabinets but all are locked; 5. No TV; 6. No kettle; 7. No lift (imagine our room is in the top floor); 8. Drinking water (direct from tap) is available in the kitchen in groud floor. So, no drinking/mineral water in room; 9. Need to wash your cups after use; 10. Book reading will have additional charge; 11. No standby staff in the hostel after 9pm. (Reachable via phone if you have local simcard/number); 12. Eating is not allowed in room; and etc...

Lovely hostel in the middle of the city

The hostel is located not far from Taipei main station which means it's very convenient in terms of transpiration and accessibility. It's right next to a busy street though. This means the noise is very noticeable but ear plug helps a lot. I love the architecture of the building which has a very interesting flavor of the old style building. The renovation and the design of the place is very thoughtful and considerate. The shared toilet and shower room is spotless clean. It's so clean i feel i can walk around with bare foot like i was at home. The breakfast portion is a bit small but it does not bother me.

The hostel is beautiful and easy to go everywhere. For breakfast you can choose one from the menu. There are many zones in hostel such as library, laundry, relax zone. The staff is nice and friendly too.

Clean hostel, stylisch breakfast room but not so comfotable for the legs. Coffee could be better! If room would have window it would be much better. Staff is friendly and location is good in walking distance to metro.
